Take the quiz first. It builds your dog's plan.

How it works

Three steps, every day. Most take under ten minutes in total.

  1. Spot the puppy tilting his head, curious
    Step 1

    Learn in two minutes

Each lesson teaches one clear skill in plain words, with pictures and a quick check. No jargon and no long videos.

  2. A woman walking a beagle puppy on a loose leash and offering a treat
    Step 2

    Practice with your dog

A short timed block with a clicker built in. Do it in the kitchen, at the door or on a walk. Not ready to practice? Save it for later and keep your streak.

  3. A blue streak badge with Spot the puppy and a flame
    Step 3

    Watch progress add up

Streaks, badges and skill levels show what your dog has mastered and what needs a refresher. Spot brings skills back for review before they get rusty.

A course for every stage

Ten sections take a dog from the first night home to reliable manners and fun tricks. The first sections are ready at launch and the rest open as they are finished.

  1. Welcome home

A routine, a name that means good things, a potty plan and a safe home for the first three weeks.

  2. Foundations

Sit, down, touch, name and harness, plus how to teach any new cue.

  3. Everyday manners

Leave it, drop it, four paws on the floor, waiting at doors and going to a mat.

  4. The big world

Coming when called, loose leash walks, car rides and meeting new people.

  5. Calm and confident

Switching off, staying home alone, sounds and new things.

  6. Grooming and vet care

Nail trims, tooth brushing and vet-style checks with no wrestling.

  7. Teenage years

Keep your skills through adolescence and know what is normal.

  8. Reliable anywhere

Cues that work at a distance, for longer, around distractions.

  9. Good neighbor

Polite with strangers, calm past other dogs and easy in a crowd.

  10. Tricks and brain games

A dozen tricks and a few brain games to enjoy for life.

Care tools for the whole household

Training is half of it. The other half is knowing who fed the dog and when the next vaccine is due.

Care log

Log potty, meals, walks and water in one tap. Your partner sees it right away, so nobody feeds dinner twice.

Reminders

Medications, vaccines, flea and tick, and daily routines. Spot warns you if a dose is about to be logged twice.

Records

Vaccines, vet visits and documents in one place. Scan a paper and Spot reads it with AI to fill in the record. You review everything before it is saved.

Sitter link

Send a link to anyone watching your dog. They see the care plan, log walks and meals and send you an update. No signup and no app to install.

Coach, and what it will not do

Ask a question about training or care any time. Coach knows your dog's age, breed and plan.

  • It never diagnoses. It can tell you which signs are worth a call and what to watch for.
  • It points you to your vet for anything about health, and to a certified behavior professional for bites, aggression or panic.
  • It is AI, so it can be wrong. Treat answers as general guidance, not veterinary advice.
  • In an emergency it shows the poison line and the emergency vet first.

Kind training, only

Spot teaches with treats, praise, play and patience. Dogs learn fast when they feel safe.

  • Reward-based methods for every lesson
  • No choke, prong or shock collars, and no alpha rolls
  • Short sessions that stop before your dog gets tired
  • Bites, aggression and panic point you to a qualified professional

Questions

Is Spot for puppies or adult dogs?

Both. The quiz asks your dog's age, breed and biggest problem, then builds a plan. Puppies start at Welcome home. Adult dogs and new rescues skip what does not apply and can test out of skills they already know.

How much time does it take?

Most lessons take 3 to 6 minutes. Dogs learn best in short, frequent sessions, so a few minutes a day beats one long weekend class.

Do I need a clicker or special gear?

No. A clicker is built into practice blocks. You will want treats, a leash and a harness or flat collar.

What training methods does Spot use?

Reward-based training only. Spot never teaches choke, prong or shock collars, alpha rolls or scolding. If something needs more than an app, such as bites or panic, Spot tells you to see a professional.

Can Coach replace my vet?

No. Coach is an AI assistant. It never diagnoses and it can be wrong. For anything about your dog's health it points you to your vet, and in an emergency it shows the poison line and emergency clinic first.

Can my partner or a sitter use it?

Yes. Partners join your household free with full Plus. Sitters open a link and start logging with no signup. Neither pays.

How does billing work?

You pick a plan at checkout and see the exact price and renewal date before you pay. Plus renews automatically until you cancel, which you can do anytime in the app, or in your Apple ID settings if you subscribed on iPhone. Read the subscription terms for the details.

Where does Spot work?

On iPhone and on the web at app.trainwithspot.com. Your account works on both.

What happens to my data?

You can download it or delete your account at any time from the app. The privacy policy lists every company that helps us run Spot.
